Default APS Single & Twin Turbos, True 2.5" Dual exhaust, Dyno's and a BBQ

Hey guys I was down at Brainstorm (los Angeles) last weekend to do a checkup on my car, before track day (more on that later) and I was talking with them about some of the latest toys that arrived from the aussies,

They now have the Single Turbo kit from APS as well as a few more Twin Turbos, and their "true" 2.5" dual exhaust kits.

Plus they have the G35 with the Twin Turbo and the Convertible 350z with the single turbos ready for your review & inspection and may be possible to go for ride alongs.

While I was down there they were kicking around the idea of getting a BBQ together and I thought I'd check in with everyone here to see what they might be up to the weekend of the 9th, since everyone's going to be busy this weekend of the 4th.

Could any & all those interested let me know and I'll see what I can put together, it's been a while since I've seen some of ya so it'd be cool to see what everyone has been up to.

As most of you know Brainstorm has installed & tuned my APS Twin Turbo since last November and the car has been bulletproof since day 1. I've been on street, Strip (1/8th mile 8.1 @ Irwindale), and track (Big Willow 1:45 6/28/05) and the kit/car has been fantastic.

My car was in the last issue of Sport Z Magazine in the turbo shoot out and put down 415RWHP on the Dynapack, the only cars there to do more HP were ringers from Greddy & Jim Wolf Technology (manufacturer provided) and they only put down another 15/20HP more than I did, which I could easily tune more aggressively and exceed it, while still having a daily driver.

I wasn't there to kill with numbers, I was there to impress with the overall drivability as well as great performance.

I suggested a dyno day before to Roshon. I'm down if it's on a weekend.

You know what, I'll see if we can work something in there for that and of course slip in a discount for us while I'm at it.

I've got 370RWHP on their dyno, which is good for at least 410HP on a dynojet, which I have yet to get on since the TT install.

I'll see what I can do.

I'll stick you on the update PM list and I'll let you know what I come up with.

Joe

Default Dyno Day @ Brainstorm Information....

Alright here's the deal if we can get enough people interested in an official dyno day.

We can get three pulls, with wideband A/F for $75.00 and I believe that is well worth it considering it's a highly accurate, load based, AWD dyno from DTS. You can safely add 10% to whatever number you get here to come up with a DynoJet value.

If you don't want A/F you can get it for $60.00.

They would block out about 20-30 minutes per car, so if we can get 8-10 cars lined up that'd be great I would see about if any further price reductions would be available.

Whoever'd be interested in setting up an official dyno day @ the BBQ let me know and I'll take this further.

I was just down there today. Saw the twin turbo G35 and the single 350z. Very sexy. I snapped a bunch of pics and will post in the "Gallery" and "SOCAL" sections soon.

Sadly I didn't get any under hood shots. Maybe next time.

Hi Joe,

If you can pull the dyno testing off with Brainstorm I will work extra hard at making the time for the trip down. Keep me informed.

Default Brainstorm Performance BBQ, Dyno Day, & Dyno Sheets

Alright people the BBQ is on and it's Saturday July 9th 9AM - 6PM so it's all day and is located:

Brainstorm Performance
12568 W. Washington Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90066
310-313-0088

The primary contact there is going to be Christian, and we should let them that MY350Z referred them.

The dyno's are going to be $75.00 with A/F & Printouts $60.00 W/O A/F

I am also including the Dyno's for both the APS Single Turbo which is on the 2005 Convertible 350z and the APS Twin Turbo on the Infinity G35.

I have gotten some PM's about Dyno interest, if you want to be officially on the list please PM and I will get you on the list. I will need full name, and basic car info.

I am going to try to be there earlier in the day myself, but I had prior obligations so I won't be able to stay the whole day.

Now here's the Dyno's:

G35 Twin Turbo:

350Z Single Turbo:

See Ya

Cool thanks for setting this up.

Are these correct since they have an AWD Dyno?

As I posted, I should be down there in the morning, I just don't know for how long.

You're welcome fo rthe test drive, you also gotta remember that I am running a conservative tune since I'm actually on it quite often, plus the track time my car gets.

As you can see with the G35 Twin Turbo, their getting another 50HP out of the car. Not that you can't drive this daily, but since this is a shop car, and is going to be carefully managed, they are willing to press it further on a stock motor.

Let me know when you're gonna be there.

These are correct for a DTS (dynamic test systems) Dyno, and yes it is an All Wheel Drive Dyno.

Things to consider, this is a "load based dyno" and it is very accurate and more importantly consistent!

These figures will easily be 10% greater on a DynoJet and apparently on a DynaPack as well.

I don't know what to say about the mustang dyno results so I don't want to suggest how the numbers work there in comparisson.

No need to thank me for the setup, it's the least I cold do for the members here since so many of them helped me while I was doing my research, and between everyone here and finding Brainstorm to do my install & tuning, my car has been a rocket with ZERO mentionable issues.

This will be a good chance to meet up again, and also meet the crew at Brainstorm. You will get good information from them as well as the other customers who show up.
