I've got somewhat of a "light" day planned today.

So long as I don't get bombarded with some serious client problem, or if I don't have a miserable day otherwise, I'll be there plus another drive, althought not a "Z" and at this time an unknown car but he WAS one of the hardcore 350z owners who recently sold his.

We'll see about meeting up at one of the caravan points, most likely Krispy Kreme.

I'll defintely have the cam with me, and on my camera mount.

Just kidding, I was there. I was hanging out with my neighbor with the blue WRX (black volks) and his friend with the red civic si hatchback... but I was shy and didn't talk to a lot of people ... heh

 

Fun meet, didn't really get to meet anyone except the guy in the blue TT. Hopefully next time I will get to meet some more people. I'll post up the pictures tomorrow. Who was that jackass in the LS z that was racing through the parking lot during the middle of the meet? Was there ever a cruise? I left at like 10:10

 

After the meet, I went up to Las Flores canyon (Schueren Road) with a few WRX guys including my neighbor, and an Evo. It felt weird being the only RWD guy there. No wonder I was eating their dust on the canyon roads...

Later on, an STi, a drifty camaro guy, a drifty 240SX guy, and some others showed up. Including the celica with the green rims, and a few others I didn't really catch.

On the way up I took it kinda slow because I don't know the road at all, and I was kinda scared of taking the turns the wrong way. On the way down, it was pretty fun and I got to push the limits a little bit.

Then I went up to a secluded place up north of the Getty center on Sepulveda, and I dragged my neighbor buddy with the modded WRX. There are a couple spots there where you have good visibility all around and there are no sidestreets, so if there are any cars coming, you have plenty of time to slow down. (And no chance of a random car popping out of a driveway.) We're not insane, nor are we street racers... we just had a little safe fun. Man, his car really pulls (for a WRX...) those things mod nicely. He eliminated cats, has APEXI catback exhaust... I think he might get an up pipe soon.

He got me from all the standing still launches, I definitely need to work on my launching skills. I won from 30mph roll and 40mph roll, easily.

Anyway, those guys I met up there seem pretty cool, they are just really into their cars of course, and that Evo had a pretty nice exhaust setup, (Vishnu?) definitely didn't sound like a 4-cyl.

The guys drifting up there were pretty insane too... my car would've been off the cliff if I pulled those stunts.

I assume some of you guys went on a spirited run somewhere after the meet? If so, where?

 

there is always a cruise afterwards, last night was an expetion because of the recent accident in the area. evidently a yellow 330 went over the side (everyone walked away) but the car was totaled and the cops had to be called to recover the car. a few of my buddies were up there on tuesday night and said it was full of cops, so we stayed away this week, but plan to cruise it next week. next week, anyone in the area who is interested this thing happens every week, but nowhere near as big, the wrx guys usually meet up there, as well as a few others so if you are in the area please stop by. as per the burn out guys, yea please dont do that in or around this area, the cops showed up shortly after and were observing us from a distance. we enjoy meeting up there and dont want to have to find another spot becasue of the careless actions of a few. great meet, i will post pics too once i receive them from my friend.
im going to have to cruise out and meet up with the valley crew next time they go shoot guns at firing line. glad you all had fun.
