Hey everyone,
I am currently looking at some employment up in Northridge, CA .... and I am kind of looking to get a feel for the area from you guys.
It's hot there I gather .. but how bad?
Good clubs? Good food? Good people? Good cops? Safe? Expensive ... you know, the usual questions...
Please give me some input on the area if you can. I appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance,
Jim
edit - also ... how is CSU-Northridge for night classes?

Um in case you missed it we passed through Northridge on the way to Simi Valley. Its like two cities east of Simi Valley. Lots of hills, oh they also had the massive earthquake there, the one where the freeway collapsed. Don't move you'll hate it. Believe me. My wife and her family are from that area. Why do you think they don't live there anymore. Traffic is absurd, housing ain't cheap, and you are in the area most people predict will detach from the rest of California....Stay in SD. There are PLENTY of engineering jobs here.

Its not so bad......
I grew up in the area then again. Its not San Diego if thats what your expecting. Cops- LAPD and they have a thing for modified vehicles here too. Clubs........What Clubs? Go to Hollywood its like 15-20min away. Housing.....through the roof but where isnt in the LA area. On the bright side.......all the 818 guys are there.

I think you'll be able to aclimate yourself here. San Diego is great but you have a lot more choices here in L.A. Lots of eye candy but just like any city if you keep going to the popular clubs you'll keep seeing the same eye candy. hit em up when you move down here.

No promises guys ... I really just need to get away from everything for a bit and clear my head. This is honestly A LOT to think about
I grew up at San Fernando and Reseda (hiking up to three trees and working at the Granada Hills UA before it closed) and I am never going back, the valley is too freaking hot, 10+ compared to most of the surrounding area. If you must move their (anywhere in the valley, really) try to get in the hills or as close as them as you can. Northridge is on a pretty big chunk of land and seems to cover a whole lot of different neighborhoods so go see prospective homes in person or ask someone to check it out for you.

I currently live in Northridge and have been here since 1988. I probably hate the heat more than anyone on this forum. But I've learned to use air conditioning. Honestly, its one of the better neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley. As for real estate, prices are high because Northridge zip codes are really sought after. Its a really decent place to live. Clubs and all are only 20-30 mins away. Z meets are usually pretty close too. I would recommend a trip out here so you can check it out yourself.
