that looks like the bottom of South Grand Ave. They always shoot films around there.

 

good spotting... it is the bottom of south grand, turned onto from olive. they've shot so many things there... car related off the top of my head:

numerous pontiac, infiniti g35, caddy, and other car make commercials

New people, main charachter Lucas Black is ins Jarhead and Friday Night Lights. Story is that he's going to be imprisoned in the US, so he moves with his military uncle in Tokyo Japan, and gets caught up in the world of drifting.

Yup, they film car commercials on grand ave. and movies on lower grand ave. They have hella many lights turned on right now so I figured they are filming something... didn't know it was Fast and Furious III.

I drove pass tonight and the cars are still there...looks like they're still filming.

 

I've seen them film since this summer in LA...most of the non car scenes are done in downtown as well...

lol i went on grand and 4th and sure enough the japanese signs were stil up. That location is really cool, now I know why so many things are filmed there.
