Default best dealership for service?

Ok, We all know that we won't take our Z to just anybody? Throw out some places where you would be willing to have your Z serviced.

I would discourage from Nissan of Long Beach. They over promise and under deliver. And that's just my experience with an oil change! On the bright side, it does seem like they have some competent mechanics.

I'd Give them a 5 out of 10. . .

Well, it wasn't so much that it was a bad service - it was just not up to par to be a good service experience. First they told me I didn't need an appt. for an oil change, and that if I just come in it'd take 1 hour. So I arrive, they get my paperwork set up, and then have me wait for an hour. First off - there's nothing to read there (literally - no magazines or newspapers), and they have the TV set to some stupid daytime drama channel (at least put it on like Headline News or something like that). . . Then I wait and wait, at 1 hr 20 mins they say my car is ready - but its not washed nor did they remove the dealer temporary registration sticker that I asked them to, as well as the parts content sticker (this was right after I'd gotten my license plate mailed to me). So another 20 mins for the wash.

Now mind you, I used to work for Mercedes of San Diego in their service dept, so my standards are a bit high because I know how good service can be if they try. And quite frankly the 350Z is the flagship car for Nissan, not a $15k sentra, but a $30K+ sports car. Only other thing more expensive is a fully loaded murano. I just expect a high level of service when I pay for a top-of-the-manufacturer's-line car. Thats all.

5 out of 10.

I hate to say it because it will just make the service dept. busier but Mossy Nissan Oceanside (MNO) has a VERY NEW facility with an excellent staff built on quality service.

There are two other dealerships MUCH closer than MNO but I'd rather drive the 30-45 minutes and get great service than the 5 minutes to the local nissan that is just not that good!

btw - I have NO affiliation with MNO except that I bought my Z there. nuff said

Thats where I got my DB Z at MSRP. Their service exceeded my expectations.

On the other hand, Superior Nissan of Mission Hills, I'll never go to again. They don't return phonecalls! I even complained to the general manager, he told me he'd take care of things and call me back, and never did.

Foothill Nissan has my whole-hearted recommendation.

Torrance Nissan.

3500 oil change. No problems.

7500 oil change, brought my own Mobil 1, charge ~$25. Less than the $69.00 I was quoted. Free adjustment of strut brace I took off during grounding installation. They forgot the under body cover from oil change but quickly put it back on when I noticed noise at 100 mph on the way back home. Met my autotech, Mike, a straight shooter.

8500 isolated rattle to passenger sunshade mirrors. Part ordered. Brett Lang, service manager drove the car and liked the clutch feel. I kind of like the solid, if someone heavy feel too but, the softer release I noticed on Alpine's track seems nice.

Overall, I expect A+ service from these guys. They keep this up through 30k, and Nissan will be getting a commendation letter.
