Default Autoglass repair in Los Alamitos - Costa Mesa?

Hey folks,

I just got a chip in my windshield yesterday morning that turned in to a full-on crack (about 9" long) by the afternoon. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with a local autoglass repair service? I work in Los Alamitos and live in Costa Mesa.

Don't auto-glass repair co's usually go on-site to repair chips & cracks? Is 9" too long to get repaired? (please please please don't tell me I have to replace my front windshield, I really can't afford that this month)...

Anyways... Any suggestions or recommendations (or anti-reccomendations) are appreciated!

Thanks!

Dave, is your crack on driver side? or passenger side?
Most places won't repair 9" crack on driver side. I believe in general if it's longer than 7" (on driver side), many repair shops are hesitant. I've even come across a shop saying they won't fix a chip or crack larger than a size of quarter on driver side. Kinda confusing what the law is and what repair shops are allowed and willing to fix.
Anyhow, here's one place a friend of mine got repaired.

They say up to 24" of long single line crack is ok.
If you are going to repair in couple of days, put a piece of clear tape on the crack to prevent moisture and crack getting longer.
