Default 350z may need new heart. Where would you take it?

I seem to be burning some oil, and I'll be taking my car to the dealer tomorrow morning. IF they recommend I get my motor replaced, I do NOT want to do it at my local city dealership (they have a horrible crew).

Which So Cal dealer would you guys take your car too if your babies heart had to be replaced? Any input appreciated, TIA.

Are you using full synthetic oil? A lot of others experience burn off with Mobil 1. Are you seeing leaks in the engine??

Never used synthetic, no leaks.

I had the oil changed at the dealership at 1200 miles. They used regular dino oil.

The car now has 3500 miles, and the dipstick is at the "L".

I don't understand why people still ask about which dealer to take their cars to. The place to take your Z is, was, and will always be PERFORMANCE NISSAN in Duarte so long as Jeff is around. Contact Jeff, Jason on the board.

when I had my Z, I got the engine replaced at Torrance Nissan.

I was not too impressed... There was coolant everywhere in the engine bay.

I was just happy I got the motor replaced. Someone is driving around in a high mileage 350Z with a brand new motor... who ever bought my car...

Performance Nissan or Mossy Nissan in El Cajon. If you choose Mossy talk to Jesse the service Manager and he will help you out.

Mossy in El Cajon? Are you serious? I took my car there twice and wound up with a dent in the door, which they took another day in fixing. The second trip when I picked up my car I noticed some white stuff on my hood, and they wiped it off with cotton batting, which scratched the hell out of my paint. I wound up having to send them the bill to fix it.

things can happen everywhere. I always received great service and no problems fixing things under warranty even after the Turbo install. I am sure you just pissed someone off so they jacked up your car on purpose!

Yeah it does suck, but **** happens. As long as the warranty covers it, and they do a good job, it should be fine.

You know, sometimes I wonder if I babied my car too much during break in. With my Se-R, the second I pulled it off the lot, I was doing 7k clutch dumps. That car has been reliable like no other.

hmmm.....

Well, I have a friend who is a master tech at the Valencia Nissan. I will probably end up trusting him with my car. I started this thread so that I had a backup, and that looks to be Performance Nissan now.

You know what the funniest thing is? The dealer I took it to today, said burning 1 quart per oil change was NORMAL. I wish I was there, but I'm stuck at work. I'll ask to see documentation about this "normal issue" when I pick the car up tonight.

Wow i cannot belive they said that.. Fully documenting your progress though the service dept is your best bet when doing things. You can always use it against them. Mention your car is f**kn brand new with hardly any miles!
