i've been noticing cars with numbers taped on the inside of their rear windshield. mainly older model vehicles. wat is that? just random curiosity

 

If your talking about the red/white numbers on a square paper, its an issued number from DMV representing a month you have for registration tags. These numbers are issued for many reasons, but the main purpose is to show the law that you have registered your vehicle and awaiting final plates and tags.
