did do a search on this and saw a similar thread, but none of that information was just for me. Anways, i live in irvine, ca and the place where i am planning to get my windows tinted said they do no do light overlays...anyone know a good spot that does this? thanks

Do you already have the overlay? If so, go to to Tint Zone in Rowland Heights, CA. Solid overlay is so easy to do but I had to let this place do mine because it has a cutout. Superpages.com for the address and phone number. Ask for David.

You wont have to. I bet your tint shop could not do it because they do not have the template cut for the overlay. Im sure if you have a precut kit, they would be able to do it. A lot of our customers have done this.
