Smile Buttonwillow! - Friday Aug 18th – only $175!

Leadfoot Adventures is having a track day at Buttonwillow Raceway on Friday August 18th, and reg is pretty cheap at only $175 for the people who sign up early. This event will sell out though, so you might want to register pretty quick.

If you’ve never done a track day before and you’re curious about what it would be like to drive your car on a real racetrack, this event is for you! Seasoned drivers are definitely welcome in the faster intermediate and advanced sessions, but the newest drivers will get special attention. Leadfoot Adventures has a great group of very experienced drivers who will be instructing the rookies both in classroom sessions and out on track. Check out the “Rookie Jump Start” page at leadfootadventures.com for more info if you’re new to the scene.

For those of you who know Buttonwillow, we’ll be running the #13 track configuration, which includes both the “Lost Hill” and “Bus Stop” segments. In the counter-clockwise direction, the exit of the sweeper and entry into the Bus Stop is really fun.

For those of you who have driven at Buttonwillow before, what's your favorite turn?

how clean is this track? Are there a lot of dirt and rocks on the road?

I like Sunrise and Lost Hill. Bus stop is cool too, I was hitting the burms on that turn and getting a little two wheel action. Good times.

When I was there in Nov., very little grass. Mostly dirt. Your car doesn't get dirty unless you go off track...

That's fun stuff!

Hey, we'll be setting up a group discount at one of the many fine, fine resort motels in bustling downtown Buttonwillow.

We'll get some people together for grub and coctails the night before, too.

Buttonwillow is really fun guys... and it's a really safe track in general. People do spin out quite often, but there's nothing to hit in most cases.

I am restraining myself from attending another buttonwillow day until I can get a different insurance policy. I know my current insurance doesn't cover me if I'm at a racetrack of any sort, even an untimed event.

Yeah I hear ya man. Weekdays can be hard to break away, but if you can the track time is usually a little cheaper and often less crowded.

Check our schedule for December though... we've got a couple events on Sundays.

The early-bird pricing has been extended 1 week, so if you're on the fence you have until Sunday August 6th to save your spot on the grid for only $175. If you're new to the track we'll provide you with an instructor at no extra charge.

As promised, we've secured a discount rate at the Willow Inn for both Thursday and Friday nights. Whether you stay one or both nights, tell them Leadfoot Adventures sent ya and the rate will be $46.95+tax. Check in is after 2pm. The gal said the normal rate is $54.95 on Thursday and $59.95 on Friday, so that's not a bad price break we’re getting.

We'll be getting together at the Willow Ranch restaurant on Thursday evening to get something to eat, hang out, and knock back a few. Hope you can join us.

Good questions, Mista. I wondered the same before my first track day back in the stone age.

The wear and tear you'll experience depends upon how hard you drive. Many say it's no different than driving hard on some twisty road for a few hours. Keep your car on the racing surface and go a little easy on your brakes and you should have no problems. The 350Z is a helluva car.

The location is Buttonwillow, California. Gates open at 7am and the drivers' meeting begins promptly at 8am. You can find all the details at the Leadfoot Adventures website on the "Event Details" page.

It's a little farther than that for me (Bay Area) and my partner in crime (San Diego). I usually just get up early the day of the event and drive in, but this time I'm staying in town the night before the event. We set up the hotel discount to make it more convenient for people. I think that you'll find once you've experienced how fun it is to drive on a track you'll be willing to drive a lot farther to get there than you think!

We're running a pair of events at Willow Springs in Rosamond at the end of September that might be a little closer to where you live.

There's still some room on the grid right now, so if you'd like to go please register soon to make sure you get in.

If you've been waiting to sign up because you're worried about the weather being too hot, don't worry... the forecast is for an afternoon high only in the mid-90's, which really isn't all that hot for Buttonwillow.

A few spots remain open in all run groups this Friday: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Hope you can make it because the weather forecast is for a high of only 95 degrees. If you know Buttonwillow you know that’s downright cool for this time of year!

A few spots remain available in each run group so we've decided to allow people to show up at the track at 7:00am to register and pay on the spot. If this is you, bring $195 cash and be ready to roll!
