Taking a Vette for a spin (literally)

This was one of the reasons I missed the Chino Meet last week....
Right outside my house off of Serano somebody somehow spun their vette up onto the curb. There were like 4-5 cops taking in the scene (not really doing anything but looking on curiously) and they actually got the thing towed away very quickly (hence my only 2 pics).
I didn't hear it happen and my wife & I can't figure out what the hell this guy (gal?) did. There are tire marks all over the sidewalk and curb where the car ended up but we can't trace the path of the car. And there doesn't appear to be another vehicle involved...no real debris but the vette is way smashed up.

Serano is a straightaway at that point so it's odd. The vette is really damaged (like it was hit) but there is no debris anywhere. I think that's their door in the first pic by the side of the car.
