Default Kenetix Plenum with a spacer

I am thinking getting a Kenetix Plenum with a spacer, Is this a good set up or is it over kill? What plenum do you recommend? What spacer should i get? What is the gain on both set up? Will this be a good upgrade?

Number one search, I searched greatly when I was looking at a plenum/spacer and got ALL my questions answered. Sense you are too lazy to search, I will attempt to help you out. There is a bottom plenum and a top plenum (I’m sure somebody could use more technical terms). On the top you get A. a full new plenum or B. spacer. The motor dyne spacer in the dyno shootout produced the best results. However, I went with a full plenum because in the future I plan to go FI and don’t want to deal with leaks in any way. You either get one or the other, unless you like to drive with no hood. Do your homework on the subject. Find out the pros and cons, do you want to keep your stock strut bar? As far as the MREV goes, I am under the impression with a 287hp motor it would do little to no good. Hope that helps, good luck.

Go to crawfords website to see a video explaining the reasoning of the plenum.

The stock hood will not clear the combination of a Kinetix plenum and a spacer. I have the Kinetix plenum and it already slightly touches the hood.

i have a motordyne 1/2 inch plenum spacer and it works fine with stock hood. I had to buy spacers to put under the strut bar but its great. nothing touches stock hood at all.

Yes, we all know a motordyne 1/2 inch plenum spacer will fit under the stock hood. However, that was not the question. The question was "would a spacer work with a plenum" such as crawford, the answer is no. Its one or the other.

If your refering to the "Strut Bar", then the answer is no. Depending on the size of the plenum spacer, all you need is some washers to lift the strut bar up a little to clear the plenum.

Deosnt the Kenetix have a the grove for the stock strut? Also will this be usefull or overkill? Is the performance a plus for this set up, Is is the spacer enough or the plenum?

Kenetix does have a grove for the strut bar, but your talking about adding a spacer to an alreader slightly higher plenum. By adding this spacer you are increasing the height and thus requiring the washers to raise the strut bar. If you ask me, placing both the plenum and spacer is just too much. People might disagree, but you are already increasing the volume of circulating air with the Kenetix plenum and therefore the spacer is not needed. Extract more power elsewhere, like a pulley set from UR or test pipes & Y-Pipe set.

Okay, more useful this time...I would say spacer, only cos if you decide to go FI, you can still use your spacer with your stock plenum. But FI with Kinetix plenum...I dunno, that's a risk.
