dood some people are too sensitive nowadays, i tend to call them african american because some black guys get really mad about that sh*t but its funny how everyone can call other people Chinamen, white guy, mexicans etc...

some people gotta get over it yo seriously or not take offense to how our society is "shaped" nowadays, alot of things that come out arent really to be used as offensive yet it manages to get twisted like that...

Wait it's not?

People out here, if they are from here couldn't find Northern California on a map, nevermind an island.

PR is realistically a country, and at the same time the 51st state.

It's a country even without pretending. It may be a "common wealth" of the US, but you could consider Mexico and Canada the same, lol.

In political geography and international politics a country is a geographical entity, a territory, most commonly associated with the notions of state or nation. In common usage, it is used casually in the sense of both "nation" (a cultural entity; see below) and "state" (a political entity; see below). Definitions may vary. It is sometimes used to refer to both states and some other political entities.[1], while in some occasions it refers only to state.[2] It is not uncommon for general information or statistical publications to adopt the wider definition for purposes such as illustration and comparison.[3]

There are dozens of non-sovereign territories which constitute geographical countries, but are not sovereign states. Several states have overseas dependencies, with territory and citizenry separate from their own. They are sometimes listed together with states on lists of countries.[3]

There are "countries" not in the UN.

This is the part of the definition you keep overlooking.

What would you say if you we're form PR? "In my common wealth..." or my country?

there are countries not in the UN, but they all have actual reasons. puerto rico is nothing but a US territory, thats no different then a colony really.Puerto rico's power goes as far as the US lets it. they can do anything it wants to it, they could insist english was the official langauge if they wanted to, lucky for puerto ricans, the US is nice about it. in fact, im pretty sure puerto ricans could be drafted? I have no idea where the hell I could look that up, but yeah DRAFTED into the US army! not puerto ricos army.
having a flag you can hang from a mirror doesnt make it a country.

you can make excuses all you want, but its not a country. i dont know why im defending it here, the burden of proof should lie with you, puerto rico is just land the US won and lets govern themselves because we dont care enough to deal with it.

howbout "where i come from" instead of "my country"

"in my commonwealth" would make sense though

Again you're just looking at things like an old king from England.

a cultural entity....PR is a cultural Entity. Until it becomes part of the US, it is an always has been it's own country...even if we won it at a county fair.
