Default New Year's Day Run - Monday 1/1/07 (4th Annual Tour d'Orange)

The fourth annual "Tour d' Orange" will be held again this year. This is similar to the Saturday morning crystal cove meets (now Cars & Coffee) only with a drive afterwards. Lots of exotics and other rare cars.

From benchracing.com:

"January 1st 2007. The fourth annual “Tour d’Orange”. The first automotive event of the new year will again feature some of the best two lane roads Orange County has to offer. A two and a half hour route will have you home in time for most Bowl Games. Sporty cars (I think this means us) meet at the Auto Kennel. American Cars and Muscle Cars meet at Newport Shelby Cobra. Both businesses or located on Redhill in Costa Mesa (Redhill and Fischer). Maps will be handed out at 9 AM and we will depart at 9:15 AM. The event will terminate at IN and OUT Burger. Last years event was attended by over 250 cars! No fee, no need for RSVP, no Whiners."

Auto Kennel address:

3001 Redhill Ave, Bldg #6
Costa Mesa, CA 92626

No need to start a list or sign up, just show up if you want to go on a great drive, see some nice cars and most importantly, if you can wake up on time

I know, that was the first meet I went to with my car way back when! I'll try to wake up on time and make it out this year.

What's the route? Are there a lot of good canyons in the area? Also, is this more of a cruise or a run.

Looks like fun, but I'm probably going to go to the malibu new years run again this year.

It's a more of a fun cruise, but lots of high dollar nice cars show up. The roads are nice too, if I remember last years route was something like this:

begin Crystal Cover on PCH
south on PCH to 133 Laguna Canyon rd. make left
133 all the way to Irvine, make right down towards RSM
RSM Santiago canyon up to Orange/Chapman
End on Imperial and 91 just short of Carbon Canyon
