Going to the Sand Box . . .
are you going to Iraq or Afghanistan?
One of my guys just volunteer to go to Iraq and another one has been in Afghanistan for 6 month and he extended for another 6 months. He said he likes it. I volunteered to go to Iraq attached to Air force doing UAV but it go canceled. Now I'm waiting for another oportunity to come so I can go in-country.
$50? for what? How much is endanger/hazardous duty pay? In the Navy is $200.

50 for married peoples family sep, at least 150 for hostile fire/hazzardous duty, his tax free is likely worth about 400 a month, per diem in field conditions maybe 120 bucks a month.
factor the money he won't be spending while he is there (gas, most food, entertainment, dating) he should be banking at least 3K a month after his home/car bills are paid off. Over the course of a year that 36k that he doesn't owe taxes on....down payment on a GTR
