Pardon me if this has already been recommended but I'd look for a Vietnamese sandwich shop or 'food-to-go' joints.
Generally, the baguette sanwiches are about $2 each (I recommend bbq pork or lemongrass bbq beef), shrimp spring rolls are about a 3 bucks and the food-to-go places have various packaged rice and noodle entrees that are around $3-5.
