Default Famoso Drag trip in August

Whats up guys? i just thought id let you all know way in advance that im planning a trip out to Famoso Raceway on August 24th for all whos interested. For those of you who dont know where that is, its like just north of Bakersfield. somewhere around 2 hours from ventura area... The gates open at the track at 6pm so i would like to plan on leaving at 4pm or somewhere around there. I want to try and get as many Z's / G's there as possible so we can make a good showing. it will also give you all a good idea of what your really runnin now a days in your car. especially if you never go to the track. Now i dont want to hear any excuses cause im giving you guys a 3 weeks notice here ok? If i get enough responses on this ill start a list so we know who all is going and whos racing and what not. Lets see who all we can get going to this so tell your friends.

It's BFE for most people. Look around and get a feel for where most people live/where the popular meetings are at. Famoso = more than 3hr drive for most.

Cali Speedway was open yesterday. Most people ran an average of 6-7 runs before getting tired and going home.

I don't know, I had to work. But I'm assuming it wasnt soo bad. From a couple of people who took stock Z's they said the average run was between 14.2-14.6 (mind you pre-'07)

that's pretty bad. lol

I ran 14.6@97mph with my stock 06 at LACR, I ran 14.2@99mph with my stock 07' at LACR.

And LACR is almost 3k feet above sea level.

Yeah, that's an '06. Ask '03-'05 what their stock times are. It's already proven that the newer motors have better times and hp #'s. With that in mind, their numbers are not bad for stock.

I thought 03-05's got around the same time as the revups?

If that was the case then there wouldn't be much of a big fuzz over upgrading to revup intakes and so on. Anyway, I don't want to take this guy's thread further into offtopic. You're more than welcome to search the forums and you'll notice the difference in So.Cal track times (or National track times for that matter) between '03/'04-'05-'06 and finally '07 Z's. I'm sure you'll find countless threads discussing the differences in the Hp and track times. To date I still haven't seen or heard of any STOCK (including stock tires) '03/'04/'05 breaking into the 13's at Cali Speedway....
