Default Anybody been to The Wheel Supply?

Has anybody got their wheels repaired at the Wheel Supply in Walnut???

I just got back from there after getting a quote for some bad curb rash and a slight bend on my wheel. seems pretty legit, and the price he quoted me (sander) was great.

however, i did have a question about the repairing method he mentioned to me...

i have 20' Axis Matrix wheels that have a polished lip. he mentioned that when repairing curb rash on a polished wheel....the end result would not be the same shade (he said where they would blend, it would NOT be the exact color of the rest of the wheels)...but, he said after time when the "blended area" dulls...it will match. i just never heard of having to wait for it to dull in order for it to match up again??? anybody know of this??? comments? suggestions?

keep in mind, i chose this shop because it's nearest to where i work (baldwin park) and there prices seemed good and the turnaround time seemed good. so if anybody knows of a place that is near baldwin park with a great reputation for this, let me know. thanks.

I've never been there personally, but they do have a good reputation.

i recommend The Wheel Supply. when it come to wheels and tires they know there ****. they fix one of my wheels that had a curb rash, but it was a stock gs300 wheel and not a dish wheel. it came out smooth and the color matched fine.

what are you having done to the wheel? Are they going to repolish then spray with clear coat?

From what ive come to understand, repolishing then clearcoating makes the lip look pretty dull compared to the original finish. Atleast comparing them to my Volks.

^^^ i don't remember exactly what it is he said...he just said that when it's done...i will need to give it time to dull out...in order to match the rest of the rim.

I'm almost certain Axis wheels have a clearcoat on them. The clear gets removed when they fix the rash and that area will be shinier than the rest. Yes, over time it should blend in unless you re-polish (with compound) the area that was fixed.

Default The Wheel Supply

I just picked up my repaired gold Volk SF Challenge wheels yesterday from The Wheel Supply. I bought them used and they had considerable curb rash. Sander and company did an outstanding job. Can't even tell they were repaired. I got some new Falken tires from them as well and had them install Progress Springs, Eibach rear camber kits and SPL front control arms. Great job all around. Highly recommend these guys. It was more than worth the 2 hour drive from where I live.

Ya i had my Winnings repaired @ TWS and they did an excellent job. You can even tell where the rash or nicks where. Not to mention the price was good and turn around time was awsome. I will for sure take mine back to TWS again if anything else happends in the future.
