Woops forgot to mention, it's modded as in it plays burned games. I think if microsoft notices that it's been opened they will void any kind of warranty.

Mine was flashing red in the left top and bottom parts of the ring tonight. I was watching Smokin' Aces on the HD drive and it just shut down. I think it was an issue with the disk though, it kept doing it in the same spot in the movie.

the warranty is voided once the seal has been tampered with.

Normally I don't condone this behavior, but.... ** cough ** ** do it ** ** cough- cough**

It happens all the time, Fry's for instance, is notorious for simply slapping a lower price on return items and tossing them in the "go back" bin...

I'd do this before trying to work with MS...

It happened once before. I did the same thing and it worked for a month after that, then it finally went to crap.

You don't think they will check the serial number on the 360 itself to match the box? Maybe I can be smart about it and swap HD's.

You may want to try sending it in. After mine broke I sent it in and I do not even think they looked at it. They sent me a new (refurbished) x-box with a letter saying that due to efforts to conserve time microsoft sent me a new one and will keep mine and refurb it for someone else. If this works I guess you will lose your modded xbox.

You really think a big company like MS took a 360, and sent you a refurbished one without looking at yours? They will do anything to lower their losses. When halo3's demo was released so many people were banned of xbox live because they had modded 360's all because MS didn't like it. I'm sure they will void my warranty just as easily.
