Default West Covina Nissan / Performance Nissan: QUESTION

what are the chances your legal and service department would buy off on a Tuner DIY Install Night

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ght=dealership

dealership opened up their service bays to local enthusiasts and allowed them to use shop lifts and tools to work on their car. Even had service techs available to give advice and help out. PLUS...they served food.

no major work like pulling an engine, but changing fluids, exhaust, suspension components would be AWESOME!!!!

Very slim chances because of legal and insurance reasons.

Yeah, Ill let Frank chime in on this but I'm pretty sure this is an insurance liability. Not really sure how that dealership was able to pull that off.

We have been talking about doing a discounted install day and perhaps a dyno day in conjunction with a local tuner.

+1 both dealerships have excellent certified techs to take care of our cars already. I'll just leave it up to them.

just trying to push the envelope.

this would be just another way to be innovative and stand out as a dealership, not that the parts dept at WCN/PN and the service dept at WCN haven't already done so.

That's like saying, hey is it okay if we come to your house, swim in your pool, eat your food, use your restroom, watch your T.V. and if we fall down during all this and sue your a$$ it's perfectly legal. okay? LMAO

I don't think they'll do it, it's too much of a liability for them. A discounted install day is a different idea, not a bad one at all.

how about upon entering the garage, you have to sign a waiver that if you get hurt or die, WCN is not liable? lol. When i went on a police patrol a few weekends ago i signed a waiver that if any harm comes to me or i die while out on patrol, Hawthorne PD is not liable.

Waivers are a great idea, but no matter how tight you make the waiver, there is always going to be some liability that will get placed when shift happens. In california courts like to rule against insurance companies, so WCN would or any other dealership would still get screwed.

Hey that's a great idea, however due to OSHA and company insurance regualtions this would be prohibitive to allow. As much as we would like to experience with all of you an event such as this, the liability issues are far too much of a risk. Performance Nissan service dept currently has a 50% off labor special on Nismo and high performance parts installations.
