The GF210 definitely appear to give the best drop for the Z with lowering springs. Dropping the rear more than the front levels the car. Im definitely gonna be buying a set really soon.

Those tanabe are apparently pretty good and popularfor a clean drop, I had tein on my MR2 and eventually it rode like a rock when the shocks eventually couldn't take it anymore and the drop was 1.5 i believe.
The drop matters, but I believe it has more to do with the spring rate. Increased spring rate over stock will more rapidly wear the shocks.
