crazy road rage incident on the 110 fwy yesterday...
I saw something similar on 101 hollywood last friday. A Chrysler 300 and PT Cruiser went at it for about a mile. The usual stuff, cutting, braking, weaving in and out of traffic and tailgating. At first me and my friends thought they were homies or something but once the cars came to a complete stop around the Melrose exit a dude actually came out of the 300 and kicked the driver side of the PT Cruiser!!!
Of course then it escaladed into a fist fight between the two parties...on the friggin freeway!!!!
I had a crazy experience too, but I was the passenger. Basically at lunchtime, my friend/co-worker and I were driving to Chipotle here in Long Beach. Well, we're on the street driving and then we see these cones up ahead because the lane we were driving in was closed for the people cutting trees in the center divider. Anyways, my friend drives pretty aggressively, and he keeps driving in this lane until we basically can't go any further (bad idea...even I wouldn't have gone THIS far).
Well, he finally starts merging into the other lane, but they guy in the other lane would NOT let us in. I thought, "oh well, we'll probably just go behind him". My friend thinks otherwise...he starts inching foward and closer to the driver of the other car, insisting that he get in. The driver of the other car is NOT having this. Now, my friend has a company car through his wife's work, so he literally "drives it like he stole it" and doesn't really care about it getting messed up. So, I'm sitting on the passenger side, while my friend is trying to merge over into the right lane. My friend and the other driver start giving dirty looks to each other, and their mirrors are LESS THAN ONE INCH away from hitting each other! No I'm not exaggerating...my friend was braking just as he was about it hit the other guy, with my friends mirror behind the other guys mirror. I tell him this and my friend's like I don't care! The driver of the other car is getting REALLY pissed, and he rolls down his window and yells "you better move your fcking car outta my way!!!" He is yelling this about 1.5 feet away from my face (remember--I'm sitting on the passenger side with my window up, and the other driver has his window down at this point). My friend says something like "what? I'm trying to get in and you're not letting me." Then the driver of the other car YELLS at the top of his lungs "MOVE!....YOUR!....FCKING!....CAR!....OUTTA!....MY!....W AY!" and between those words he is literally leaning out of his car throwing punches at my friend's car--MY WINDOW!
Okay, it's bad enough as it is, and then my friend looks at me and says "is that guy really bashing my window!??!?!?" I kind give him a worried laugh and say "yeah". My friend responds "Oh hell no!" and then he proceeds to start rolling my window down while the guy is throwing punches!
I'm like you fcking idiot! WTF are you doing??!?!? He stops like half way, and luckily the light turns green as my friend is rolling down my window, and the guy just takes off! Oh and the funny thing is that the other driver had 2 passengers with him, one lady and another guy: 3 people total including the driver, all seemingly in their 30's and also look like they are going to lunch from work. During this whol ordeal, the 2 passengers just sat there very calmly, just ignoring the entire situation! Like they literally had NO expression--they didn't say anything, they didn't look around, they weren't angry or shocked---they just sat there as if nothing was happening!
That was the craziest experience I have had.
