LMAO @ online bartending courses. not that it's a bad idea, i just thought it'd be a good idea to take the class in person...get the hands on approach and learn to f*ck around with the bottles by hand.

yeah hands on experience is definitely key here, but I dont think I have time or patience to sit inside a classroom. I have alot of time on the computer at work and some money on the side 1-2 times a week would be nice.

I've been bartending for over 7 years, and I've been a bar manager for 2 years. Don't waste your time with classes. They are a joke. The classes may teach you how to make drinks, but making drinks is the easy part. The hard part is dealing with customers and being efficient(multitasking).

I got lucky with my bartending positions. In the restaurants I've worked in I've always had to prove myself as a server before I got promoted to the bar. Once you get promoted though, most places give you the slow shifts for a few months(little money). It isn't easy becoming a bartender. It takes some patience and a lot of hard work.

I do love bartending though, and the money is pretty good if you are in the right place.

Ive been working at a resturant for 2 years, but not as a bartender. Usually, the bartenders will spend a decent amount of time serving before ever being considered for a bartending job.

True...So many people want to do it, very few get selected though.
