so i just got back from a casual night of drinking and i was trying to install a cf hatch just right now (yes, it's 3am) with a friend and we figured it would be a pretty easy job. so we removed the shocks and my goodness the hatch is ******* heavy. well while i was trying to remove the 4 bolts he lifted the hatch too high and the rear spray nozzle pushed my roof in causing a little crease in my ROOF!

is there a way to pop it back out with those dent removers? or would i just have to take it to a shop to get it repaired? what are my options? if i take it to a shop and it requires painting i might just have it painted gloss black!

pics if the dent? i dont know if im imagining your dent right....if its more closer to the center then you could probably pop it out...but if its nearer the edge might be more difficult if not not possible.

well the dent is near the edge and it looks like a butt crack. thinking about it makes me sad!

i'll try to post pics of it tomorrow.

 

if it is creased it probably will not pop back out.

So lets see casual night of drinking = drinking & driving maybe a DWI, hopefully killing some innocent persons who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Wrenching while under the influence = just plain stOOpid and now possibly having to possible paint or hide the alcohol induced stOOpidity with CF.

Waiting for pics... But as you said its creased, you can try dent removal depends on how bad and even with dent removal you'll probably see some bubbles after. Jon seriously why attempt to install something on your baby while your drunk?? But if you decide to take it to a dent removal shop go to Mobil station by Nogales/amar rd. (Shop called "tint/dent removal and widow repair" is actually behind the Mobil gas station they do good job and the repair man actually works for dealers) G/L though.

my friend and i were both completely sober before we left. no drinking and driving for me, i've lost a close friend from that and would NEVER do it.

ANYWAY, it looks like i might need to take it somewhere. since it's on the edge the dent removal stuff probably wont work. either that or a cf roof overlay

Jon, I don't have their #. Some times you have to make an appointment since the technician works for superior nissan and other local dealer that's why I trust him. I used to have an accord and have plenty of nasty dents including crease and he was able to remove it clean.

 

okay thanks. i think i know where you're talking about. aren't the roads pretty messed up over there though? my z is pretty low and have trouble getting into a lot of places.

 

My accord back in the day was 1.5inch from the ground and I made it Just take the whole ramp when you pull in/out of the gas station.

BTW: its next to the ALAMO car wash/Mobil depending on the size of the crease I would guess maybe atleast $50-125.

 

God damn! Jon that dent/creased is bad... I'd say CF overlay check the dent removal shop anyway and see how much and what they can do.

 

Yea Jon or his friend didn't even have half a beer. Me on the other hand was a different story. But damn Jon sorry to hear. And they were all like its easy and blah blah blah hahahaha.

 

Damn man good luck with everything jon. Last time I was drunk working on my car with some friends and it took me 45 mins to figure out where the maf sensor plugged in not realizing that my intake was not put back in lol! I was with some Japanese techs who were drinking with me as well, and they weren't much help either lol! Good times!
