Default The Alignment Shop in San Diego

http://www.thealignmentshop.com/home_001.htm

Has anyone ever used these guys for an alignment? Good? Bad?

I plan on installing some springs on my car this weekend. I would like to get the car aligned afterwards. Any other suggestions on an alignment shop in San Diego would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Wheel Store in Oceanside, good people, quick service.

The owner used to work at Toyo and is rumored to be the first person to push for tuner sizes back in the early 90's at Toyo that spawned what we have today.

I would recomend "LUTZ", a lot of the scca members, that auto-x at the stadium go here for their alignment. I really liked the service too.

True Line in El Cajon is great. All done manually and they offer corner balancing as well.

Try Clarence Brown in Clairmont Mesa area. Very good service. They have a bunch of experience on highly modified cars

Can you guys throw out any rough price estimates for these places?

I heard Trueline in Convoy was good too.

Hey Equinox,

Saw you again leaving work in Miramar. Okay, I just got my alignment done by Mossy Nissan in Kearny Mesa. I called around before hand, Clarence Brown was pretty expensive. I believe he quoted me for 100 for all 4. I only paid 70 I believe at the dealership and it was pretty damm fast. I got my car back within the hour I brought it there, I had a appointment as well.

Really... that is right around the corner from my office. Is he a member here? I'd like to see if he can install my Cusco a-arms and re-align my car.

depends on what you want your car setup for. The best possible in San Diego is Steve Coe at C2 Motorsports L.L.C.. He's a retired engineer and uses the thread method (most of you have know idea what this is, but this was the old technique, requiring pretty much an engineering degree and it is still the most accurate way) and he is well known in the autox world in San Diego

Yeah I know Steve Coe at C2. He's helped me with a lot of autox stuff. Didn't know he does alignments though...maybe i'll just call him!

EDIT: Steve doesn't do alignments. He recommended Lutz Tires.

Took my car to Lutz Tires. They rule. Car was aligned to my specs. They even had me sit in the car to take my weight into account.

Their contact info in case you missed it above

hello guys

Ive got strange wear patterns on both of my rears set( 275 street and 285 track r-compounds) of tires. they seem to be worn excessively on the outer edge. am i running enough neg. camber or should i get rid of some toe in?

whats a effective compromise alignment setting for street and track use? I although i have adjustable links in the back I dont what to run a too aggressive race chamber. can anybody share there experiences with suspension alignment settings a little bit more track worthly than stock but not full race set up?

I have a track day a laguna seca coming up next week pls chim in you with suggestions

thanx

I run -2 degrees front and rear with very close to neutral toe. Handles like a champ all the time and takes twists and turns like nothing.

If you are wearing the outside of your tires, you need to get that alignment checked soon.
