personal air conditioning unit = necessity
$100 - $400... bite in the wallet... but atleast I can sleep at night.
My room at night during the summer would range from 95 to 100 degrees (thanks to the valley)... now it's around 76 degrees.
Think about it guys, I'd rather sleep comfortable than not sleep at all.

Or you could be cheap like me and wait till 3am where its slightly cooler and stick the fan in front of an open window...
