Precisely! If concealed carry WAS legal, we would have far less crime... States that allow citizens to arm themselves have less crime rates that our liberal anti-gun state CA... I'm not a gun fanatic, but bans on guns will never keep the bad guys from having them.

Think about it - if some thug thought you would pull a pistol and shoot him in the face, would he attempt to car jack you?... I a desperate dirt bag robbing a bank knew there is a chance that any or all customers had a gun, do you think he'd threaten to shoot anyone?

I didn’t read the barker story - so I'm not saying he was justified... but the anti-gun slogan in CA is ludicrous!

you want to talk about random thugs?

I was in 2nd grade when a thug put a gun to my head, my mom instantly pulling a gun out of her bag would have got me killed. If she didn't pull the gun and just handed over her purse(and wedding rings) he would now have her gun as well.

That would classify him as a criminal. So like i said, when was the last time you heard of someone that was legally carying their gun whether with a CCW, or abiding open carry laws, getting into trouble?

Anyhow, sorry i'm not trying to argue with you. Just trying to shed a little light on people.

I think for some, as soon as they hear the word gun, they just automatically think bad.

Just my couple quick comments:

1) What he did isn't illegal. CA is an open-carry state. bobbarker was abiding by all of the stipulations of the CA laws concerning open-carry.

2) This is not the same ihatebobbarker that was on my350z before. This bobbarker is my brother.

Any update on the case? What's his reason to carry?

because it's his legal right to carry, he doesn't need a "reason".

Not sure on the case but i know he's getting alot of financial support from activists.

stylett9 has the reason exactly right: It's his legal right to carry. Pure and simple.

As of right now, no new updates on the case. I haven't talked to him a couple days. I'm sure he's VERY busy at the moment.

If there's interest, I'll be sure to post updates here as things progress.

Also, I'd like to encourage everyone to spread the news of this story. The Calgun's Foundation is supporting him, and you can read their commitment of support here.
