Anyone can recommend a Shop in LA area... the closer it is to Walnut 909 Area the better. But I don't mind driving further for quality... and what's the price for powder coating 4 rims to black?

^ I heard that some materials gets weakened when they put them under super high temperature... but others say that the amount of time under the temperature shouldn't have much effect on the strength...
I have stock EVO X rims and the Volks RE30 I wants cost around 3k~ with tires.. Soo.. I mind as well powder coat the stocky black to be somewhat different until I come up with the money

Steel has a better chance of not getting affected due to its material properties but aluminum may be more susceptible.
Some aluminum products are temperature sensitive, especially those that have temper or heat-treated properties. It is a well-known fact that aluminum can loose those temper properties when heated above a predetermined threshold (this is called annealing). How much the properties are affected depends upon the alloy of aluminum, the temper rating, the exposure temperature and the time the aluminum is exposed to that temperature.
You should check with the wheel manufacturer for temperature limitations before coating. At least obtain the alloy and temper rating, if any, for these products. Then you can look up the information online or check with a Metallurgist.
But if the powder coater is worth their paycheck, they should know and understand the processing enough to ensure that the metal will still be road-worthy.

Damn there's a place in Van Nuys, but I don't have it on me.. it's actually at my office. But if you google powdercoating and type like a city in the valley like Tarzana, the one I'm thinking of should pop up, and I think they quoted me @ like 100 per wheel with one color and +$ for two tone... there's more places, when I get to work tomorrow i'll try to post them for you henry.
As for powdercoating Rays wheels (which most people on this forum seem to have) the techies @ Mackin Industry e-mailed me back in regards to powdercoating Rays wheels specifically (forged or casted) and they said most colored wheels that come from the factory are low-heat powdercoated (which something not above 400f degrees) and to have them low-heat powdercoated again would not affect their structural integrity.
I only say this is because I wanted to powdercoat the OEM track wheels I have now, but was hesitant about the cracking probs noted through out the forum.
