So Calif my350Z crew - link to ZcarPC
Hi So Cali Crew..
For you folks I wanted to demistify the ZcarPC.. It's just a PC !
Anything you do on your home PC, you can do with the ZcarPC.
If the judges in contest, give points for Stereo's then you can get more points with a Z with internet access. Correct me if i'm wrong.
But how many times have you been out on the road and said to yourself. I wish I could get to the net.
What WLD350Z and I did was to cut down on the number of components to have an In car PC. If you have an existing Factory NAV we can't help you - Yet.. But we want to Mod a factory Nav to have DVD and PC. Any brave Soul's out there.. NDA of Course.
The link.

Cheers Amy -
Here is the link to the Nav Section.
For the SoCal Crew, I talked to the Master (Sensie) E-Mail him to talk it up.

Send me an email to amy@amycroft.com and I'll let you know how to contact us.
There are many SoCal run's and events we go to. And Wld350Z and I think that "everyone that didn't by the Factory Nav should have one."
It really came in handy to pull over, boot the PC linked to the Cell phone Samsung V205 ( only 56Kb - poo ) and look up the closest traditional Sushi resturant in the Ventura Blvd and Havenhurst area out in the San Fernando Valley. Find the address, and put the address into Street Atlas 2003, and
The bloody thing directed us, (my engineer - Kimmy-chan and I ) all the way to Yotsuko Sushi.
You could ask for more - but why try..
Also while I was in a 20 Minute dead stop traffic on the FRWY with no where to go. I was able to watch 15 minutes of film "Gangs of New York" Air on - drinking Bottled Water.
While everyone around was getting out of their cars an Cussing.
Ha !
Cheers Amer's -

Do you have a price yet on the setup similar to the one in your car? Also I didn't ask you in Sa Diego did your car have NAV when you modified it? If not do you see any problems with cars that do?
Talk to you soon.

No price yet.. But it will be cost plus. WLD350Z's expertise is
in field stripping the interior, with no bent or broken parts. That
is labor intensive.
Yes I recall, before I went to talk about the two Nav units in the car. I use Deloreme USB GPS, and the other is a GPS2000 anti theft and locator.
No, I didn't buy the Factory Nav.. That modification is extensive.
Your last question, yes the factory nav unit lacks quality after modification, because the PC is attached via a composite (RCA Jack) DVD playing is fine, but text of PC apps are fuzzy.
But if you click the link above, you will see a Forum Member SwoobyZ. His link shows what has to be done to add a Multi Input tuner and tap into the factory Nav.
Cheers Amy -

Separate GPS Locator - GPS2000
Subject:
In addition to the ZcarPC, a separate GPS2000 car Commander / Locator - Better than LoJack.
www.gps2000online.com
Lowest price on the web
http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=GPS2000
Savings lots are fast shippers.
You can use a phone or internet to locate car.
Lock Car
Unlock Car
Be notified of theft, low battery etc to Alpha Pager, Cell Phone and E-Mail.
Set Continuous tracking mode on/off
Sound horn for 60 Sec.
One extra pink wire to flip a 12Volt relay - attached to "what ever you can think of" electric device.
Much more..
Cheers Amy -
If you get one, Wld350Z can custom install it - without breaking or bending an interior part. And completly stock interior appearance.
wld350z@sbcglobal.net - Orange County / La Mirada area..
Additional thought If you want an installer (with less Z care) then I can recommend Beach Auto and Sound in Huntington Beach.. They can add the One Pulse to Two Pulse Converters to roll windows up before the Lock Car and Disable Starter command.
For location use Google and search for Beach Auto and Sound
