anyone wanna switch cars to wash? I'd much rather wax a Z than this Evo..

also, anyone got tips on how to remove wax from this black plastic piece? I swear, I tried all kind of shitz but the wax just shows after it dries... AHHH looks retarded.. it's impossible not to get wax on them
Have you tried "Back to Black" I think Meguiars or some company makes it. It makes the black look somewhat shiny and no wax marks.

edit: I searched.. it's Mother's back to Black or Meguiar's Trim detail.. will look for the trim detail today. I really need to focus on one brand and stick with it... *staring at the 20 unfinished bottles of different kind of whack *****

last time I was at gas station... some guy ran up to me and said LOOK AT OUR CAR CLEANER! NO WATER NEEDED! he proceeded on using a dry towel, spray his stuff and cleaned my Z while it was getting gas! looked great! except the bastard washed half of my Z.. I had to buy a bottle just so he can wash the other half... meh 20$ lol

Ya man It should work just fine if your using it for the Gas Tank, we actually used it on our boats tanks.

If you wanna do Automotive clear I can help you out. I have a place/shop down here in Costa Mesa that i shoot my stuff at. But the cost of the clear will be more then $16 bucks I know for sure I think like $30 for the small can with activator. Lol just ask me about it at the meet.

dope... thanks bro. yeah definitly hit you up at the meet. i'm not anywhere close to painting yet, i just finished getting all the body pieces. today, i'm taking the track tank to a locksmith to open the lock, and re-key it to my key.

saturday will be sanding down the tank, not to the bare metal, too much bs.. just enough to be roughed up a bit so the primer will hold.

Ahh I c.. Well then It might be worth it to buy the Actual automotive clear if your gonna do all the pieces to your bike. $30 bucks will get you enough clear to do the whole bike.

I have to decide on that when i get to the clear coat. 30 bucks really is a good deal. especially with how much all the body pieces cost me for the race plastics.

eric, another questions... know of any place and brand that have paint, that will flex to a certain degree, in a spray can? usually when ppl just spray regular spray paint on, the fiberglass body panels have to flex to fit on the bike, and this cracks the paint and clearcoat and looks like crap. i'm not a racer and not sponsored... lol... i can't afford the $ or time to keep touching up or repaint the damn thing every time.

Hmm... I don't know of any Spray can Paint that will flex well except that Krylon stuff for Plastic. Its made for Plastic and i assume will have more flex to it then the regular type spray. I know with 2 part paint we would just add A "Flex Additive".

They do sell Flexible Primer which is what you would really need for plastic pieces.

Evercoat makes a Flexible Primer

But SEM is my Favorite: http://www.carpaintstore.com/proddet...1ea39aebaff949

$12 bucks a can

thanks eric... i think i'm going to be making a trip to kragen. they supposedly have a wide selection fo primer. most of them are the duplicolor brand, which i have heard good stuff about. they calim to have great adhesion for plastics, metal, fiberglass, and wood. lol... wood?? ahhaha. and they have paint also in colors in spray cans. probably go with that and see what happens. nothing more than 6 bucks a can, so even if i fudge it up... just have to sand and start over. lol. thanks man. but i'll def talk to you about the clearcoat tho.

Lol no worries! Ive used the stuff at Kragen and it usually works just just fine! Just see if they have a flexible primer. Then you won't have to worry about cracks.

anyone got any touch up paint for a PPW??? I noticed my hatch was making funny noises when i would open it, but i just now found out what was causing it. Some screw was stuck in between the hatch and the roof and was scraping against my roof! The screw scraped the roof down to bare metal... the corner of the glass rubber seal thing got lifted out too. Im worried about potential rust formation and leaks... I dont know how it got in there but maybe it fell in there while my car was being worked on.

can you see the rub mark when you have the hatch closed? if not, you do not need ppw touch up paint. just use some clear nail polish on the stop that was rubbed away. that will seal the metal and will not cause it to rust or exposed to the elements. plus, it's way cheaper than touch up paint, just ask your mom or any girls you know for some.

You cant really see it unless you specifically look at the gap between the hatch and the roof. Its in the dip in between. Clear nail polish sounds like a good idea. Touch up paint is like 25 bucks or something.
