So today i went to anahiem mitsubishi and my offer of 28k OTD for an EVO X with SSS with that 2k rebate got rejected...

 

how long did you spend talking to them? The more time you spend with them, the more likely they will try harder to close the sale. If you just went up to them and told them you wanted it for 28k OTD, its harder for you to move them.

 

I spent 5 hours... I've seen ppl spend 8+ hours... lag it! u are in no hurry.. they are desperate for the sale

 

not to long, he went back and then came back and said this price, and i was like nah, and he was like how much do you want it for and i just said 28k then he went back, and came back again and said he couldnt do it. I was like im sure you can, i have proof showing that a dealership quoted me 10k off MSRP so i know you can do that also. (Showed the email to him, and he was like oh.. Well i cant do it) so i left.

 

^ dont get the areo kit... it's awesome.. but it'll make my evo look wack... If u get it, I might have to put on my black ninja clothe at night

 

iono ill go check out south coast on friday or saturday and see whats up. Damn dealerships.

 

Not enough time man. You gotta hang around and lure them in. Go for a test drive first, then start talking to the salesperson about potentially buying it. Bring up other cars like the STI and whatever that compete with it. The key thing is to spend alot of time with them.

IMO i woudlnt get the optional aerokit. Id rather buy a regular one and mod it the way I want with some aftermarket stuff.

The aero kit is functional against rock chips.. which is one of the biggest headaches Evo owners are facing.. shitty paint.. Aero kit + mud flaps can reduce almost 70-80% of rock chips.. pretty good deal if u wanna keep the Evo chip free.. (notice those fat *** rock chips on my side skirt)

so if he has extra 1k to spend, its worth it.. + u can add lip on top of that

 

lol! yea i test drove it, ******* hardest piece of **** to drive smoothly, and then the guy selling me the car was like here ill drive it to show you its full potential, so we went on a good run. I was at the dealership for about an hour, but i didnt want to make it seem like i was super interested or else they give you the run around.

 

gotta give it a 1-2 sec pause, let the rpm drop a little before you shift to go smoothly...

 

Yea! this guy kept saying you have to add gas as you let the clutch go. I was like WTF? you have to rev match? and then i was like doesnt that waste more gas? and he was like no no no, thats how your suppose to drive this car

 

wait what? ok say your in 2nd gear.. turbo kicks in at 3000rpm.. I usually shift right below it to save gas.. but say we do a little spiritual driving.. its 5000rpm.. if you shift right when it reaches 5000, you are going to feel a very rough shift.. instead, let go of gas a little till it drops to 4500 - 4700... then shift.. smooth.. same every every gear

next time u test drive it, hold down the traction control botton for 5 seconds.. it disables EVERYTHING! that's when it's most fun to drive

n dont try to launch the car until you are positive you are good at it... 3 bad launches and your clutch is gone
