hey guys.. so here's how the new clutch feels now. need some help. how do u guys break in clutch?
1) the clutch pedal vibrates.. from initial step to engagement point, it vibrates hard. can make my feet numb. doesn't vibrate when it's fully depressed.
2) The car is really hard to get off on first gear now. On a complete stop, if i left go of clutch just a little, car stalls.. need some gas to just get the car moving.
3) I can't get into gears half the time.. on the drive home, if I double clutch, I can get into gear easily.. say driving at 50mph and I'm in 4th gear. I fully depress clutch, I just can't get into 5th no matter what. Have to let go of clutch, then clutch again to get in. same goes for almost every gear.. but random times I can go in easily.
4) There's some loud noises when the clutch is engaged. From outside of the car, it sounds like metal hitting metal. pretty loud. but this is prob from the shudder. hope it goes away after break in.

none of what you say sounds like anything i have ever went through with a clutch.

get a Escort 9500ix those things are just as good (if not better) then the V1 only difference is it dont tell you where the direction the cop is at BUT it does have GPS and you can save location of speed traps AND it tells you where traffic red light cameras are... also... if someone jacks your unit... you can completely turn it off from online making the unit worthless to the "new owner"

Unless u trying to avoid cops on local streets, those things are useless on the freeway. Chp don't use radar guns, they just pace you for like a quarter mile and then bust yo ***.
We use them on log road trips like to mammoth for boarding and stuff. It did sav our asses a few times.

I had the V1 for many years, saved me here and there add up to be around 7 tickets. Some cops do hide in blind spots with Ka band radars (sometimes K band). They'll record your speed then speed up to you. If you can't ID a cop behind you pacing, then you deserve the ticket lol.
The only down side for the V1 is the "laser" detector. Those things are fast and they are not always on. They'll only shoot the laser at you and takes only 2 seconds to catch your speed, how fast you can react to stop to the speed limit that is depend on the individual. The only advantage you have over the cop in laser is that they can only target you when they are at a dead stop. So if your eyes are good, can see far ahead and a copy hiding, you will be fine. But if you could, why you need a detector in the first place? lol
My honest opinion for owning a V1 for 2 years on my z is that its worth it. If each ticket is $200, V1 has saved me $1400 so far in 2 years.
My 2 cents

They go for $400 ish new these days. I suggest buy them new, because they do get dropped a lot if you don't use the biggest stick cup they provide. And they do die after a few hard drops.
Buy them new and come with the warranty, best way to go.

dang... just get a roll of giant construction paper and cover your floor.
my first gear is pretty hard now.. I have to rev a little in order to start moving. Old clutch I could just release enough to start rolling.. now the car jerks like crazy

that don't sound normal m0nkie... you sure there's nothing wrong with the clutch?? or you just need time to adjust to it?
nah, i'm going to get a table to work on it... not going to be a one day deal... lol... well maybe the rebuild... but definitly not going to install it on the same day. gonna be way too tired. plus, i'm going to take my time and do it right. hate to fukk up my brembo calipers with a messed up piston.
