LAST SHOWOFF EVER!
Nisei Week SHOWOFF Car Show
August 15, 2009
Did we get your attention? Since SHOWOFF gets no love from industry = no sponsors, it might just be the last SHOWOFF ever! Come support the orginators of car shows and be a part of history.
**not really a fan of car shows anymore but i wont deny the fact that this is one of the shows i grew up on besides checking out Battle of the Imports in the mid 90's in middleschool/highschool...
wow just shocked a bit... and that gets no love part ..wow
**** still not going though haha
, id rather be on track****

Yup grew up on the SHOWOFFS too...
Back in the days of the Del Mar Fairgrounds, RJ De Vera w/ his red NSX, Ken Miyoshi, posing with not-so-great looking import models, all the headlight conversions? Man those were the days!
We can't blame the masses for these things going away though. If vendors and sponsors are not doing well (proof by the newstand publications) there is really nothing to showoff.
Even though it was always good to be absorbed at a car show, I was never into the whole "show philosophy" though: the newest, most different, hottest trend? Form over function? Keeping up with that gets old...and I guess so am I???
It's kinda sad to see these things go away, but nowadays it's all about the smaller enthusiast meets and posting pictures online. I have to admit I won't miss seeing how many Nos bottles and LCD screens Johnny Racer can stick in his LS Integ.
