Default replace clutch

This is my problems now.
1. The car smell like something burn.
2. The clutch wont pull back some times.
3. VDC and SLIP sign on.

I went to diagnose my car to day, they said the clutch is slip and need to be replaced. That is also the cause of the smell.

The front brake pad is almost gone, that why it show the SLIP and VDC off sign.

So there are two thing I have to do replace my clutch and brake pad.

1.Do you have any idea how much it gonna cost me?
2. If I have to replace a clutch and break pad , should I go for after marker or OEM ? If after market which one should I get ( I am on budget, dont want to spend much on it)
3. Is any shop you guys would recommend ( prefer the cheap one) ?

Thank you so much for all inputs

hey bro, here's something else you might want to think about. Since your brake pads are worn down, what condition are your rotors in? you might have to turn them so they are smooth again or you might have to replace them all together. brakes job are not that expensive... but changing the clutch and buying the parts is going to cost you some $$$.

Thank you Mike
I should turn the rotors + install the brake pads. They told me the front is worn down but the rear is okay.

What do you think about this clutch ?

i never changed the cluth in my car yet so i didn't do any research on clutch yet. but seems ok. price is not bad. i am assuming this is just the stock oem replacement?

yeah change the pad and turn the rotors. which brake pads are you getting? you know it's pretty easy to do the brakes yourself right? just have to take the rotors to the shop to have them turn it for you. and the bolts to take off the caliper torque members from the knuckle, you need some pb blaster, let it soak, and get a long wrench to get those babies off. i mean you you want to save some money on labor prices.

I'll leave you my car this summer along with a pound of you know what... by the end of the summer, I expect a SAFELY BUILT 400whp Evo It's not that complicated. The pound should be sufficient cash if you do it right

I had some major brake squeaking problem.. couldn't take it after a year.. Went to dealer to turn the rotor twice and changed the pads... nothing worked. Switched to EBC rotors + Red Stuff Pads. about $450~

Love those rotors/pads. I'd definitely recommend the pads... rotor is up to you. You can turn it once or twice before it gets under the safety thickness limit

i think you mean HP Plus is more aggressive,it gives you the bite.. but they do dust more. Make your rims dirty after a day, they turn brown

I went to another shop to diagnose my car and I heard a different story.

They told me that my clutch is not slipping but it burnt. Then they keep asking me did I drift with this car ( Cuz I ware D1GP T-shirt and some D1 sticker in the car). Seriously No I'm not even try to drift my Z.

The VDC and SLIP sing on is related to clutch not the front brake pads. And they says the front brake pads still last for another 35% , but rotors look like it have been resurfaced it too thin to turn the rotors.
