Burning Oil dilemma (local Nissan dealership)
Hai guiz!
I took my Z to my local dealership (Torrance) to get it tested for oil consumption. However the service manager told me that before Nissan can replace the motor I'd have to remove my headers and replace them with the stock ones.
I told the service manager that was a bit silly from Nissan to think that aftermarket headers would cause on in some way affect the oil consumption results. Have you guys had this or something similar to what's happening to me?
thanks!

Dealership wont shell out money easily. Im surprised they didnt void your warranty from seeing the headers......Had that happen to me once. Just put the stocks back on 250 in labor is cheap for a new motor
hey cannon... i didnt know you were in torrance bro! im down that way from time to time dodging torrance pd haha... maybe i will hit you up sometime, i go to gardena nissan tho when im in the area, they always take care of me... maybe you should try them out before you do the uninstall, ask for Rudy
right on broda! yeah the cops are everywhere. lol
I will try the other dealer before I do anything. My headers are Crawford headers and I'm not so sure they are smog legal.

My 2K6 has oil consumption too but is no longer under factory warranty, i do have extended warranty on it, anyone know if that would be covered? When you guys say they replace the motor, does it mean they replace it with a brand new one or a rebuilt one? any feedback is greatly apreciated.

The motor is under the powertrain warranty not bumper to bumper. 4 year 70k mile drivetrain warranty. You should still be good.
And Mario hit up John at Perf nissan. He will take care of you.

Thank you Bryan! Guess gonna have to remove the headers and install the stock one back on.
really? it he can hook me up without removing the headers, that would be really nice bro. Well I'm gonna wait for the test results from the Torrance dealership and then go to see perf nissan.
