Yea, but honestly save your money!!!!... Anything they can teach you, you can either learn from someone else or by yourself doing projects on your own and getting help from other experienced people...

I have some friends that did the same right after HS. The best way to learn in my experience is by doing. You can learn from people who have worked with car audio in the past.

If you wanted to open a shop and do work yourself as well you might as well hire 1 or 2 experienced installers and learn from them on the job. As the business grows and you need more help in the shop you should be more comfortable doing the installs yourself. I am fairly confident with install/wiring with the Z to the point where I did my full stereo install myself and by now I can have the dash and console apart and back together like its nothing

Harbor Occupational in San Pedro has a Mobile Electronics program. I also believe Friedman Occupational in Los Angeles offers the same program.

I went to the East LA Occupational Center for a year for Mobile Electronics classes; a hobby for me ended up getting me a great job. If you're anywhere near East LA Occupational Center, there is a great teacher by the name of David Earhart, and I'd highly recommend going to his classes. He is one of the 124 MECP Master Technicians in the entire U.S. and Canada. (Basically, he knows everything you could possibly imagine about car audio.)
