I read a post on NICO and many people where having this same problem and pretty much pinpointed the Bose stereo system. They were saying that it was like a high pitch noise that you have to really pay attention to or else you wouldn't hear it. Other than that I would have checked the intake as well but you already checked it. Good luck finding the issue.

I had a similar problem now that I remember when I had a mustang. Annoying ringing noise that would get higher pitched the more you accelerated as if there was a bad ground on the stereo/speaker.

thank for the info. but the thing is, i am not using bose and i am using a after market amp and sub. also i have had this set up for like more than 5 yrs but it just started like 2 days ago .....so that's why make it even harder for me to find out what is really happening ...

and that high pitch tone does get very very loud which is even louder than the engine......

You said aftermarket amp and sub so chances are your RCA's are picking up interference when the signal leaves the head unit.

-double check for loose RCA's
-make sure wires are not run parallel with other power wires.

Most of the time it's just bad RCA grounding on the headunit.

If the problem persists, you might have to ground your RCA's at the headunit or wherever the RCA's output lead to the amp. You can do a quick google search for it, but it involves wrapping like so...

Maybe some audio experts can chime in, but that's the best info I can give you.

This situation may not apply to you but in most cases it's the common "alternator whine". It sounds like a supercharger when you accelerate right?

"The biggest offender of noise in the car audio environment is alternator whine. Alternator whine is caused by a difference in electrical potential (voltage) between two points. It's usually caused by a ground connection that is less than ideal. The main culprits are the amp, the head unit and any intermediate components such as crossovers and equalizers. Basically any component that touches the low level music signal (from RCA cables). It's usually cured by finding the source of the noise entrance and re-grounding that component."

+1 with the alternator / stereo system. Look at the big picture op. We get it after 3k rpm. Have a buddy or someone who knows about audio system.

Try grounding the RCA's outputs. It can't hurt...

oh btw, do you have an aftermarket head unit as well?

My aftermarket headunit was fine for the first couple of weeks before I got alternator whine. Sometimes bad grounding will take a little longer to rear it's ugly head....especially in a car where vibrations and currents are constantly changing.

i just checked all the wires and the head unit (Kenwood KVT- 815 DVD head unit, today .....but it still happens.....now really get me thinking would that be a bad connection of the battery negative side? throttle body ( but i just had it replaced a new one 2 yrs ago)? or vaccum hose leak???

damn the sound is way too loud that i can't just ignore it .....

Sounds like this could be ground noise. Check your headunit's ground wire, RCA cables or amp ground wire if you have a amp. Sure you didn't have the issue before but over time the wires do move around. Happy hunting, I hate ground noise
