i assume this wasn't apart of this group correct? Disappointing to hear, but not totally unsurprising. There are some pretty sketchy places back around that area. I know of a few areas that if you lost control that you'd be over the side of a cliff as there is no guard rail. That mountain isn't for learning your car, its for respecting it, learn your car before you hit that mountain . But groups that head up there from this forum all seem to have a handle on things, just sobering to hear sometimes. hope he pulls threw it is.

No it was not our group we just happened to be in julian at the same time as the socal subie guys were there. From what i've read on thier forum it sounds like the guy hit some loose gravel around a corner got sideways and hit the bank on the side of the road his body was ejected from the car and hit a tree. He was takin to the hospital and put on life support He had no brain activity so they decided to "pull the plug" as they say. It's always a sad day to hear about someone that is injured or worse dead doing something that they love.

thats good it wasn't someone from the forums, but disappointing to hear . Always need to be careful up there, I've witnessed several people loose their cars on a gravel spot. Thats why I prefer the desert for high speed, not that thats any safer .

How was this last one? I wanted to go but couldn't make it. Did u guys go mesa grande or back behind julian/banner grade?
