If u want an easy way out of a tint ticket, ask ur optometrist for a note. what i did was ask my optometrist for a doctors note stating I was required to have a tint on my car due to an issue with my eyes. Of course it is BS, but my optometrist was cool about it and wrote it for me haha.

it's the governator that's why it's $180! mine was $25 after I cleared it with chp.

Maybe the $180.00 is the penalty tax for living in Cali.

Well yes and no. It is listed in the vehicle code hand book that with a proper note from a doctor tint up to a certain point can be legal; but that doesn't stop him from ticketing you anyways

Yeah, plus after a certain percentage you'll have to resort to some sort of removable screen that can be taken off at night.

If you have a serious condition where your skin can't be exposed to light, you better be wrapped up like the invisible man.

The original poster knew the law and knew he was violating the law regarding tint. If he violated the law, he shouldn't complain when he gets a ticket. Just man up and pay the fine. Is the law fair and right? I don't know that. I just know it is best to obey the law or expect to be fined.
