Talking Quitting My Job and Moving to SoCal

i've decided that i'm going to quit my job in 2 weeks and move to southern california. i've become really bored of where i live now and i'm looking for a change. my question for you is, where in socal should i live?
  • my new job allows me to work from home so i have no limitations on where i can live and commuting doesnt matter to me.
  • i would like to live somewhere within walking distance to stores, restaurants, and things to do.
  • i'm single and looking for a place with good nightlife and a fun dating scene.
  • i would like to be within a few miles of the beach.

i'll probably rent or buy a condo when i move. i'm leaning towards downtown san diego or somewhere in orange county. my budget is around $1400/mo for rent so if you have any specific apt complexes or buildings in mind, let me know. i would like somewhere with a dedicated parking spot. let me know your thoughts!

nice carrera! I love driving those. If you're looking for nightlife, try westwood or around that area, pretty nearby to a bunch of clubs and reasonably close to the beach. I live in orange county, and theres pretty much no nightlife around here, especially in Irvine, and the cops are a major buzzkill.

san diego is the best place to live man. LA areas are nice but u probably will run into stuck up chicks. San Diego have better looking chicks and are much nicer! My opinion though! you can rent a place by college area/ aka San Diego States area or USD area/ aka University of San Diego. You can date college chicks all day long! it is about 10 mins away from the beach! lots of Asian foods!

with 1400 dollars a month you can rent a 3 bed rooms house with garage. But you are single why rent a 3 bed rooms for. you can rent a 2 bedroom duplex for 1000-1100 dollars around here and save every month! I am living by USD area and it is pretty cool consider i can do anything i want and only need to drive 15 mins. And i can go back to my comfort oasis home within 15 mins!!

pretty ironic, i moved from allentown pennsylvania to san diego like 4 months ago...you following me? but anyway, look into Pacific Beach or El Cajon. PB is ALWAYS packed and tons of things to do. EC is a couple miles from Downtown, and all the beaches and would be cheaper than living in the city.

well coming from allentown pennsylvania, a 15 mile drive IS close. but it's all relative if you're used to every town being stacked on top of each other...
