Default Smog..

Anyone know if smog places will care if I have an aftermarket exhaust on my car? Cats are still there...

A catback aftermarket exhaust is not a problem during the standard smog test. You could even have different (aftermarket) cats as long as it passes the sniffer part and the visual inspections sees something that looks like cats.

CA, still uses the sniffer?? I thought the ECM port under the steering column was the standard for testing along with a gas cap testing also required.

I live in an "enhanced" smog area. For my last smog they did a visual inspection, plugged into the ecm port, checked the gas cap and did a tailpipe emissions test. Pretty stringent test....I hear that there are a couple high flow cats that clean the exhaust enough to pass but not the ones on my car
