Default 30k service @ dealerships, or DIY??

My car is at 27k miles right now.. and I need to get an oil change done soon. So I havent had ANY service done to my Z besides oil changes every 5k. I took the Z to santa barbara back in July, and it seems like there was some green fluid that leaked, possibly coolant, but not much. So I think its about time I get a major service done. I know its a ripoff at the dealership, so what do you guys do? If I were to bring in my car, I would also ask them to take a look at the squeaking of the hatch. Its annoying as hell. Maybe they can fill up the hatch with felt or something. BTW I have an 08 if it makes any difference.

You're only going to save about $50-80 DIY i believe, if you buy all the fluids yourself and the tools needed... But 30k is pretty easy, just change out tranny and differential oil... It's same procedure as engine oil change

I have a 07 same exact noise you have... It bugs the hell out of me at times! For some reason the noise is louder and more frequently in the morning. I would suggest go to the dealership since 30k is kind of huge. I'm at 32k right now but I just recently got my oil changes so I'll probably wait another 3~5k then I'll bring my car in for service

I have that same squeaking in the hatch and I was told that it's my shocks that need to be replaced.. but I need to look more into that.

thanks guys.. I'm gonna see what kind of deal I can get for the 30k service. I have a mailer from West Covina Nissan that is offering 15% off service on Tues. & Wed. I'll look into that.

Can you not adjust the latch that holds the hatch?

West Covina is good and it's not too far from you.

If you don't go the dealer route and if you really don't mind the drive, you should check out Corner 3 Garage in Lake Forest/Irvine. They do good work and they are very honest.
