So speedventures is holding an event at auto club speedway the same weekend as the meet. I was thinking about getting a hotel in Fontana and hitting the track on Saturday then going to the meet with my dirty car the next day. I spoke to JNathan about this already and he sounded interested anybody else want to join us?

I am definetely thinking about it. There is a car wash not too far away if you want the clean car look at the meet

That is the track. The course that Speedventures runs uses part of the oval and the rest is an infield road course. It is a pretty fast track and fun to run the banking in corners 1 and 2. Link to info below

I would suggest get a hotel in rancho cucamonga by the mills, hotels and motels by the track isnt so great of an area.

 

Yes jnathan is correct they call the track format "The Roval" for a reason because it is half Oval and half infield road course. I know that jnathan and terrasmak have ran on the track before so any questions can be sent thier way. On the speedventures site it states that they will be having a beginner run group along with group and private instruction with one of thier instructors so this would be a good oppertunity for some people to get thier first track experience. I also think that the track and the event holder allow in car ride alongs for a small fee so even if you dont want to drive you can come out, hang out and maybe go for a ride with someone that is driving.

I bet if we get a good group of guys to go out then we can get Scotts attention from Fontana Nissan and maybe some of the Fontana Nissan Racing cars will come out to play as well I would love to see what that project Shart has in person haha.

 

Thanks for the info... I wouldnt want to wake up to my car being on jacks stands and my wheels missing the day of the meet lol.

Yes, ride alongs are allowed. I can bring my extra helmet for anyone who wants to come by and take a ride. BTW - there is a charge of $10 to get into the track but no cost to be a passenger that I know of.

Scott from Fontana Nissan will out at the track on sat, a few more of us will also come out there. Will be a fun day to play before the meet.

This is from Speedventures. From what I understand they will also have someone representing them at Fontana Nissan on Sunday.

 

I'm bringin out the tents so we can all hang out together at the track. I will also bring out a bunch of cold water to keep us all hydrated!!!
