Default Do you buy your own clutch or

I have to get my clutch replaced, but I was wondering if you guys buy your own clutch and get it installed at a shop or let the shop buy the clutch you want so they provide warranty on parts and labor. (They won't provide any warranty if you bring your own parts)

I am in San Diego and Los Angeles area, and I am looking for a shop that works with you in terms of picking your own clutch/fly wheel. (I hope the new setup doesnt chatter!!)

Your input is much appreciated.

Thank You

I bought my clutch and brought it to a shop but it was more because I found a deal on the clutch and really didn't know of a shop down in SD that would get the parts at a decent price and do the job correctly.

If you find a shop (either of the two already mentioned are good choices) that you trust, get the parts from them and have the labor done by them. You may pay a bit more for the parts but you will be better covered if there is an issue.

Ill provide warranty on labor only if 1. the part is new 2. If i know the part is of quality 3. If the part was bought through reputable source.
