Default SoCal Owners Read Within - *Special request for aspiring Z owner*

Hi all,

My name is Rocky, and i'm based in San Diego, CA. I know there is a pretty big following down here for these cars. I've been stalking the forums for awhile now, and think I'm ready to finally consider purchasing a 350Z.

However, before I go in search of the perfect 350 to buy, I'd like to get a feel for them first, as this is going to be a daily.

So my request would be something along the lines of finding an owner down here that is fairly knowledgeable about the car. Then meeting up with them at a car meet or similar, asking questions about their ownership/problems they've had with the car, and even getting a ride along in the car just to get a feel for it to see if the car fits me.

Preferably would like the car to be 6 speed.

Would anyone be able to help me out with this? I'm 6'2" and it seems to be hit or miss as far as fitting into some cars.

P.S The other car I'm considersing is an IS300 so any owners that have driven both, or have opinions on either car I'd like to hear it.

Thank you in advance,
-Rocky

I daily drove my Z for 3 years in San Diego when I was in the Navy. I had ONE issue and it was my fault for pushing to get more miles out of the tires and it was LITERALLY 2 days before I was going on terminal leave to trailer the car to Iowa. The Z is a solid car and if you find one unmolested it will for sure last. If I was still in SD, I would give you a ride. I know a couple people that are still out there, one with a slammed DE, and one with a fairly stock 06. If you're interested (and don't plan to murder their faces off) I could contact them with your info. PM me if so.

Good luck, and thanks for your service.

drive both at the dealership like you stole it.

if you can find one at a good price, try to get an HR 07-08.

if there is no need for a back seat, to me there is no question...get the z.

i'm a bit biased as i love mine, but hey it's a Z forum lol.

also maybe try joining the sdgz facebook group. i'm not part of it, but they seem like a close knit group that helps each other out or at least that's the impression i get from them.

First off, let me apologize for my possibly misleading post. I'm not apart of the military in any way. I should be the one thanking you for your service. Anyways, thank you for your response. I'll send a PM your way.

Thank you for your response. That may be the way it goes, but don't want to deal with all the dealership antics.

Not really looking for an HR as it is outside of what I want to spend. Most likely i'll be looking for an 04-06 DE.

Requested to be in the SDGZ group. We'll see how that goes. Thank you again for your insight.

Hahaha, yea, that "based out of SD" stuck out since I was stationed there and that seems like military terminology. No worries.

I did mention I have a buddy with a near stock 06 right?
