The nation's premiere import auto show hits Southern California on the 5th Annual Nisei Week Car Show and Carnival, where the car show meets cultural experience in Downtown Los Angeles. Mainstream Productions presents the Nisei Week Car Show to be held at Little Tokyo on Saturday (JDM vs. DTM) and Sunday (Showoff Car Show), August 14-15 2004. This is the place where the top-notch show cars come out to compete and show.

Nisei Week brings back fond memories of cruising loud and lowered Toyotas in the 80's. Those were the days before the cops shut down the cruising. Back in those days we were rolling on Work Equip, Hayashi Racing, SSR, Hoshino wheels, etc. 16" wheels were considered huge back then and we were all running headers w/straight pipes and turbo mufflers. It was a lot of fun gunning it through the major intersections of Little Tokyo with our loud exhausts bellowing off the tall buildings with tons of people watching from the sidewalks.

I miss those days and I'll probably go and check out this year's car show. There's also a street fair with lots of food...

 

It's usually a nice little show... just remember it will be nice and hot like usual too with not much shade

 

memories ....oh yeah the 1986 mini truck,91 civic si remember the days when people sat on the famous wall and watch the cruise now we have to pay for the show
