Default Dec 4th - East vs West: Toys for Tots campaign

Hey folks:

There are a lot of needy kids out there, and the USMC does their best each year to fill some of those needs.

The gauntlet was thrown down by the east coast and Team Transport accepted on behalf of the West Coast. If you woud like to join in on this great cause, step on over to the Team Transport Toys for Tots thread

The date we have set with the Seal Beach USMC office is Dec 4th, 2004 from 8am to 12 noon. Transport is trying to get Angel's Stadium as the site, and our request letter is now in their hands.

The event will include a mini car show, trophies, music and fun. If you cannot spend the whole AM with us, we will also have a "drive-by donation" area, where you will be able to pull in and hand off your toy(s) to a Marine without having to park. Marines will also be accepting cash donations. If you donate online with a credit card, let us know so they can give your group credit.

We will not be charging for the event, however if anyone knows of any sponsors interested in helping out...just let me know.

more info will follow as we get specifics and commitments!

Cheers, Ted

It is not our intention to drag folks away from their home forums with the external link above. We are just trying to get all the local groups on the same page instead of having to visit 10 different sites to answer the same questions.

Link I provided above goes to the LA/OC thread. We currently have confirmed participation from Hawaii, Bay Area (North CA), Southern CA (LA/OC) and Southern CA (San Diego) , as well as NY <=== booo!!.

You can check their forums by going to the top level of the forums

Let me know if I need to create a section for your area if one does not exist. We'll use the Transport forum to tally the counts to see who wins the bragging rights!

Cheers, Ted
