Default Houston......tranny problem

anyone know which dealer i should go to to fix my tranny grind? I bought the car at Baker Jackson but dont wanna take it there. Dont like their service! Any suggestions appreciated.

Also car is modded, Will i need to change some things back to stock so they wont pull the void warranty crap on me.

I say good luck going anywhere...I just took my car to Sterling McCall in SW Houston, and they took all day to fix my drivers side window...they are slow..but they are going to replace my drivers side seat due to wear on the bolster..Ive never had trouble getting something fixed with them....but they are slow...take the tsb's to them too. they are clueless. Baker Jackson is actually the only dealer in Houston that has the nissan excellence award...

I recommended Moroccan_Mole to take his car to Baker Jackson (hwy290), and they replaced his tranny with no questions asked.. Ask for Nelson Morino.. He will take care of you..

Appreciate this guys. My tranny is funny. Sometimes it grinds and sometimes it doesn't. Better get this done ASAP before the warrenty goes out.

Friend of mine talked to the service tech. at Baker Jackson, he says the tranny has to grind ALL THE TIME for it to be warranty. Mine only grinds sometimes, so it won't be warranty. Just FYI.

Very informative. I'll keep that in mind Apexi350z. Still worth a shot in trying to get another tranny.

I changed out the tranny and diff fluids also to see if it would smooth out some. It does smooth it out but you can feel and hear some grinds.

I tried Redline, Royal Purple, and now back to Nissan OE tranny oil. The OE tranny oil is actually better Maybe all the eariler synethetic oil smoothed it out

Advantage Nissan is now Clear Lake Nissan just south of Star Toyota past Calder Rd. If you haven't got this problem fixed yet I'm a tech there and can hook you up. Don't care if car is modded to an extent but there aren't many mods that will void tranny warranty. If your'e interested come by and ask for Clint (me). I'm usually late so don't come by too early.

All I have is Crawford Plenum, Pulleys, and Intake. As for the resolved issues on the tranny, I'm not entirely sure. My tranny was notchy and was grinding to begin with when I bought her.

Clint, you have PM

Clint, I have been having Tranny problems on my 03 Z. Every time I take it to the dealer, it's always a different story. The 3rd gear grinds once in a while, but not all the time.. Do you think I can get a tranny replace? I have 42k miles now...

Can you pm your number so I can call you before I go there? Thanks!

Howard

bought it in 03 Oct, but its an 04'. Notchy meaning hard to engage and hearing a noise to the next gear even depressing clutch all the way down. When I reverse sometimes its hard to shift to gear. It doesn't grind when you double clutch which is what I do sometimes. Hope that helps.
