Chris,

Glad to hear you can join us. I invited you to join, so this is not really an infiltration. Sorry to expose you cover. Please extend the invitation to Jeff and Sondra.

You need to go with Chris S on one of his 500 mile trips to Leakey and back. I think that is one of my favorite drives ever! Made me feel !

Thanks for the invite! I'll definitely be there... can I tell Stefan (silver S2000 with the OZ rims, for those who might remember him) about it too? He's one of those responsible types who is an asset rather than a liability to a group drive.

Again, thanks for the invite! It will be the perfect Valentine's weekend activity for me and my first love: my car!

Michael, here in Austin, these two groups have been pretty friendly with each other! It seems to be a mutual admiration thing of a sort, and we really enjoy you guys' company. We promise not to over-invade your party or make ourselves unwelcome

Sondra,

You're welcome! Glad you can join us too. I checked with Rodel (CZOT club president) about inviting a few S2K friends, he told me no problem as long as I invite "the safe and mature ones". Chris, Jeff and you fit the description well, so does Stefan. Please extend the invitation to him too. See you in 2 weeks.

Since I am not the event organizer, the CZOT club is, and I am just a member, I have to limit my invitation to the folks I know only. Hope other reader understand.

Shaun,

See my response to Sondra above. You have to ask Rodel (doodz), the CZOT president.

Michael,

This is Austin. I had a couple dinners, Saturday BBQ run to Salt Lick and Hill Country weekend drive with the S2K folks. We just have fun, check out each other car, enjoy driving, don't brag about whose car is better (those are for kids), we are mature adults. You'll enjoy it too.

Al, thanks for vouching for Sondra, Jeff, Stephan, and me. We wouldn't be interested in joining y'all if we didn't appreciate the Z, and you won't hear any smack talking from us! (who knows, I may even be a future 350 Z owner...)

Chris,

You're welcome. I just stating the fact. You set a high standard for organizing and leading a Hill Country drive last October that may be hard to match. Did you file a patent for your secret route? Don't wait too long, there's a lot of copy cat out there.

BTW: Did the bodyshop take good care of your love one? Hope at least the paint look shinier than before. I have to keep my sunglasses on when I check out yours on the 15th.

Al, I copied those routes myself...learned them from years of riding w/ the TSBA (Texas Sport Bike Association), and I'm happy to share them w/ anybody (hint: if y'all ever want to do a longer drive, ask me for some kickass routes).

Jeff's did a great job on my car. I also got a new front bumer and a ding removed, plus they detailed it inside and out. Looks almost like new!

Here are a few very quick shots I just took in my garage (no, I won't win any photography kudos for these!)

Sheesh, I guess I wasn't sarcastic enough for you guys to take my post as an attempt at ironic humour...? (yes, some of us 350Z guys dynoed at the s2k dyno day today!)

Michael, it's hard to read sarcasm in print sometimes, and I guess us S2000 folks are just intent on not making ourselves unwelcome!

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again and meeting those of you I haven't been around to meet yet!

sigh ... i might not be able to make it to the drive.

it turns out the guy handling everything for my car (ordering the parts) is no longer employed at the dealership ... in the meantime a few backordered parts that were supposedly on the way to the dealer earlier this week, no longer are.

so im looking at an extra week atleast until i get my car back, unless somehow the parts i need actually did make it on to thier parts shipment coming tomorrow and this just a mix up

this also brings about another issue ... after saturday i wont have a car to drive. when i switched cars on the insurance they somehow forgot to add the part where they pay for a rental car... wtf!?!? at first i didnt think this would be a problem bc my car was supposed to be fixed last week ... and i could drive my mothers car in meantime, while she was on vacation. now shes coming back on saturday and will leave me car-less.

the insurance said they can only apply the rental coverage for the next time i have a claim.

should i push the dealer to give me a rental bc of the delay or push the insurance company bc it was thier f'up.

sigh
