I'm gonna have to stand down on this meet.

Maybe next time, if it is more organized and we do something I can't do in my own neighborhood.

It would be neat to see everyone, but I'm not willing to give up a weekend of fun and partying for a club meet unless there is equal fun and games (and great food and drinks) to be had there.

With that said, I gotta get back downstairs to my party.

Hope ya'll have fun and everyone comes home safetly!
Take some pics!

Scott,

Come on, you don't have to go but certainly don't be a putz about it, just don't come. I for one think we're going to have a lot of fun.

Nice to see Chris and Anthz again and also meet some new 350Z owners from Austin (Trackbite, vova151) and Houston (Morroccan_Mole, Apexi350z). The weather was great so do all the the friendly Z owners. Hope Morroccn_Mole and Apexi350z had a nice drive back to Houston.

Here are some pictures from today meet in Austin. The clarity weren't that great, but ... :

Note: Sorry the camera was left on portrait mode after taken some family pictures last time.

Damn,

Did you get up on the wrong side of bed or something? Sorry, but you're not going to find any road near as fun as Lime Creek and others closer than the Hill Country (I did plenty of time in The Woodlands/Houston).

If you can't have a blast in Austin (w/ or w/o your fellow Z owners), you're a dud!

Chris S,

Too bad you can't join us today. It would be great if you can make it to the one next month (2/15) . Hopefully, your S2K will be fully taken care off by the bodyshop. The CZOT is planning a longer drive (180 miles) through Hill Country next month . It may not be as long as the one who hosted last October, but any Hill Country drive sure beat staying at home.

BTW: When are your hosting the next S2K Hill Country drive this year? I can't wait.

Al,

I showed up for a little while this morning, but had to leave to get ready for a MTB ride before you arrived...sorry I missed you. My S2000 s/b out of the shop late this week (Wed-Fri), so I hope to be able to join y'all on the 2/15 drive if y'all don't mind an "outsider" car.

Haven't yet thought about another Hill Country weekend trip...but there def. will another one! Just have to decide if it's gonna be an annual or semi-annual event. Hopefully more Z's will come next time.

Chris S,

I forgot to set the alarm clock last night, so I woke up late this morning. Too much stress at work during weekday. I checked PM from you this morning to see if you need a ride before I left.

I will chat with Rodel, the newly elected CZOT club president (you met him before), about S2K participation next month. You guys always invite us, so I don't think there will be any problem.

If you want my vote, I say we need a Hill Country drive every month. except mid summer.

Shaun,

Look like you guys made it back to Houston safely. Sorry, didn't get to say bye before you left. I was tied up with Mohamed disabled Z32 on Lime Creek. I am glad you had a great time. It beat staying home. Well, see you next month.

I read the itenerary. I party more than that here in Houston. Sorry if you find that offensive.
I go to Austin at least once every month or two, so I know all about Lime Creek. My other car clubs go there every month and always take that drive.

I go to car meets at least once a month, but I have never and probably will never go to one that lasts one day.

You should come to one of our 3G meets. They last from Fri. nite through Sunday, we get suites at Double Trees, eat at 3 or more resturants and go to the party spots (like Sixth Street).

In April we are leasing a warehouse and hiring a band.
That way the parking lot will belong to no one but us.
We always get some great group photos when we do that.

I'm sure ya'll had fun. I'm sure I had more fun here, but whatever.

I'm glad to hear that everyone made it home safely.

Touring6MT_Z

Those are some nice pics.

My favorite is the first one, but they are all good.

Lime Creek is awesome! I had a friend loose control on that road (lift-throttle oversteer on a downhill turn) and went over the edge!

He was in a 3rd Gen. Eclipse GT and it landed upside down. Yikes.
He was okay, and at our club meets we always drive to that spot and pay homage to the dead Mitsu.

Austin is beautiful. I may move there soon, just for the heck of it.
Okay, actually so I can eat at Bone Daddy's every day.

Track,

Thanks for your compliment on the pictures. I don't think the picture quality and clarity were that great. The camera is one of those early generation one that do only adequate job. I have a very good Nikon 35mm SLR, so have no need to invest more money on another newer digital camera.

Sorry to hear about your friend Eclipse GT. We had a safe drive yesterday.

I am just a club member not the event organizer, but I know yesterday event was meant to be very casual to fit everyone budget. A more elaborate or elegant one may restrict participation.

I agreed with you about Austin. We loved it here. Hope to see you in Austin sometime when you visit or move here.

Default Comments on my first Z meet...ever!

I wanted to say that it was nice to meet everyone yesterday.. Even the Cedar Park and Williamson county law enforcement members

If anyone out there has never been to a Z meet and is a little leary because they won't know anyone there, let me tell you within 5 minutes of being there I had alreay made some new friends that I spent the rest of the day talking to. If you like discussing things on the board then you will love coming out to a meet. You can see some of the mods that people have made, decided what you like and maybe what you don't like as much, hear horror stories, etc. All in all it's a great reason to get out in your car and spend the day with some really good people that will 9 times out of 10 have the same interests as you.

Al,
The pics look good. I will post any different ones that I may have after I get them downloaded. Everyone take care and I hope to see you all again next month.
